About Us

My sister, Rhonda, and I created Sister Thrift in July of 2003 with two principal goals in mind - to assist a local nonprofit organization in raising additional funds that may not otherwise be available to them and to create the ultimate thrift store shopping experience! We have been shopping at thrift stores and rooting through bins at yard sales and flea markets in search of that perfect piece of furniture or hard to find piece of china since we were preteens. We partnered with the MetroWest Humane Society in 2004 and began selling donated items online via our website. The reaction was so overwhelming, we quickly realized the need for a retail location and opened the first Sister Thrift store in Watertown, MA in March 2005. The Burlington store followed in October 2009. The atmosphere in the stores is fun and upbeat and we are intent on being the cleanest, most pleasant thrift stores in the area, offering the widest selection of preowned items, ranging from antiques and collectibles to clothing, purses, shoes, knick knacks, books, and pretty much everything else you can imagine! That's why our slogan is "if we don't get it, it doesn't exist!" Best of all, a portion of the proceeds from every purchase benefits the mission and programs of The MetroWest Humane Society. We're not going to go so far as to tell you we're the best thrift store in Massachusetts since we're obviously biased - we want you to come on by and decide for yourself! See you at the stores soon!
